EmpowHER Financial Wellness is a Kentucky nonprofit dedicated to helping women build financial stability through trauma‑informed education, coaching, and community support.

Who We Are

EmpowHER Financial Wellness is a women‑led nonprofit serving communities across Kentucky, where financial education resources are limited. We provide trauma‑informed financial workshops, personalized coaching, and hands‑on bootcamps designed to help women gain confidence, reduce financial stress, and take control of their financial future.

Our Story

EmpowHER Financial Wellness began in Franklin County, where we heard women describe the realities of financial stress, instability, and struggling to feel confident in their financial decisions. Through these conversations, we saw a clear need for financial education that was not only practical, but also compassionate, accessible, and trauma‑informed.

In response, we created a supportive, step‑by‑step model that honors women’s lived experiences and provides tools they can use immediately. Today, we are expanding our impact beyond Franklin County, bringing accessible, hands‑on financial wellness programs to women who need them most. Especially in communities where financial education resources are limited or nonexistent.

Meet Our Team

Born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, Katricia brings both personal experience and professional expertise to EmpowHER Financial Wellness. With a Bachelor’s degree in Middle and High School Mathematics Education and a Master’s degree in Education, she spent years teaching students how to build confidence in their math skills. Over time, she realized that many women, including herself, had never been taught the financial skills needed to feel secure, stable, and confident in their money decisions.

As a mother of three boys, Katricia became deeply committed to building a financially stable future for her family. That commitment grew into a passion for helping other women do the same. After moving to Frankfort five years ago, she saw firsthand how many women in both Central and Eastern Kentucky were struggling with financial instability. Not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked access to trauma‑informed, supportive financial education.

Katricia founded EmpowHER Financial Wellness to change that. She combines her love of teaching with her belief that financial education should be practical, compassionate, and accessible. Her trauma‑informed approach ensures women can learn without shame, fear, or judgment. Her commitment to personalized support helps women build confidence step by step.
